Am reading every post about Mittleider garding
What kind/size of sand is ok for grow bed/box, is 3/8 ok?

We recommend "concrete sand". It is somewhat coarse, it's usually washed, so that there is no clay, etc. in it, and it works well. Do NOT use mortar sand. That is finer than you want.
